The Pilates approach to strengthening and stretching the body is regularly recommended by physiotherapists, osteopaths and personal trainers, and has proved its effectiveness many times over.
An intelligent mix of Western and Eastern physical reinforcement techniques, it is practised, first and foremost, for postural improvement, adjustment and/or rehabilitation.
Pilates is practised on a floor mat and on specially developed apparatuses.
To us as physical activity teachers, discovering Pilates was an eye opener.
It allows a respectful, progressive and personalised approach, and therefore offers a wide range of possibilities from which everyone can benefit.
NB: If you have suffered a muscle or joint injury, please first consult your doctor (physiotherapist, osteopath…) for advice on the appropriateness of Pilates for your particular case.
